oh so true!
i have made instant connections with others as I find out that they are bloggers. I have also had that slightly uneasy feeling when i realize that these real life people that i talk to on occasion are regular blog stalkers of mine.

Too funny! And since I started my blog almost 3 years ago (has it really been that long?) as a way to keep the extended family in contact with us…. well, that’s still the main focus. But yes, I have just in the past few months discovered a lot of the mom’s at my bible study either have blogs or read mine. It’s really random to have a mom that I haven’t talked to in a couple weeks come up to me and comment about something I wrote about. I’m like “how did you know that” and then I think, oh yeah, duh, I wrote about it on my blog!
And yeah, most of them don’t comment unless they have their own blogs. I so get that part!
[Reply]
I respond well to subtlety!
I laughed out loud when you wrote that you’re always a little scared and confused when someone you know mentions they read your blog. I totally feel the same way! And then I think “What if they tell someone!”
I heart your blog. And you are one of the people I think I could be friends with, if you knew how cool I was!

Guilty as charged! I’m a stalker – but now I’ve graduated to fan!! I love your site-it’s great to be able to laugh about being a wife and mother. Even though I work outside of the home, I can still relate. Now that I’ve broken the “comment” seal, I’ll be back!

Stalker is a much better word that lurker don’t you think? It implies a bit of gumption:) Anyway, add me to fan status, too. You have a great blog and I really enjoy reading it.

I know sometimes I just say I have a friend that lives in such and such. Because when I say bloggy friend, people think I’m weird. It is wonderful, though, isn’t it?

Look, I am commenting again! Can I be moved out of the “friends who stalk my blog” category?

This was the biggest surprise to me about blogging. I never imagined I would feel like I was such close friends with women I had never met. And I would have looked at someone like they were completely crazy if they had told me that.

I agree so much. I have made friends online. My husband thinks they are all old perverted men though. Even though I have spoken to a few on the phone. Great step my the way!! Glad you made the leap! Anyone in NW FL???

Oh yeah, forgot to say that yes, the stalking is indeed unnerving!!!

It’s the weirdest thing ever when someone you vaguely know reads my blog. Then it’s a little awkward that they know so much about me.

Oh, I can SOOOOO relate to this. Except, um, I have a hard time explaining blogging to friends that don’t blog, or read blogs, or get it in anyway.
My hubby’s boss’s wife reads my blog. I mentioned it once, and she wanted to see it. But now I find out she reads it almost daily. That’s a little unnerving. I just try not to think about it

Oh, so subtle and oh so funny. Love your blog.
For the longest time, my most faithful reader was my FIL. Neither of my MILs read and my mom and husband were just an occ. readers. At first it was a little unnerving to hear my FIL refer to something I had written. Like an extra conscience or something. But good, too.
My non-blogging friends are completely mystified by the whole thing. And give me strange looks when I talk about someone else’s post. Ah well. They just don’t get it until they GET one!

Since your commenters are sharing the love, can they please come over and give me some? I got NUTTIN’ today (except you, Old Faithful.)

I love reading your blog! I totally know how you feel with the “stalker” friends. Every time I would go to my husbands softball games this summer the other wives would ask my son about specific things he had done recently. For some reason, every week I was surprised until I realized she had just been reading the blog!

Is there a catagory for blogger’s moms? Or at least blogger relatives??? I know you have a few out there!! I love being the mom of this blogger cause otherwise I would be one of those who “didn’t get it”. Now I’m hip and happenin’!!!

I never expected people that I kind of knew in real life to become real life friends, all because of blogging!
And it definitely weirds me out a bit when I discover someone’s been reading my blog that I had NO IDEA was.

LOL…I guess I’m one of those people who stalk your blog (except I don’t know you in real life) and rarely comment (sorry…it’s a fault of mine…but you are in my favorites on my blogroll if that makes you feel better). Anywho, I decided to comment today b/c I loved your post…I have the same five categories except I don’t twitter or facebook (at least I do know what they are though…LOL).

I love your descriptions! Someone at church was talking about something they heard about on TV called “twittering” I’m don’t tweet, but was proud to know exactly what she was talking about, and astounded that I was the only one in class who knew what it was. Note to self: must get fellow church goers blogging…:-)

I just started blogging about 7 months ago and I’m in the same mindset you were. I’m pretty sure that only friends and family that know me are reading, since it’s mostly pictures of my son, but I’ve enjoyed slowly discovering the world of blogging. I’m adding your fabulous space to my blogroll.

I don’t have a whole posse of friends, and of those friends I do have, I’m the only blogger among them. Like you, I’ve made some friends in the blogging world and try to participate in discussions on their sites as much as I can.
And I do have my stalkers. My stalkers happen to be co-workers who very recently decided to check out my site. I’m very much not cool with because I know they’re not reading because they’re curious. They’re just looking for dirt.
