Works For Me Wednesday- Windows Live Writer

If you are not a blogger, this might not mean anything to you, but if you are, you should pay attention. Well unless you are a Mac snob. Which a bunch of you are. Hmmm…..nothing like writing a post that most people won’t be able to do anything with.

Anyway for the two of you that are still reading, have you downloaded Windows Live Writer yet? It is a desktop application that helps you write better. Why? Because it allows you to see what your blog post will look like while you are writing it. You can upload photos and place them in the post easier than on your blogging platform. And there is no “oh my goodness, what just happened to that post I worked hours on?????”

You don’t have to be online to write so you can write anywhere. Planes, trains or automobiles. If you have multiple blogs it can manage that too. And it is compatible with WordPress, Typepad and Blogger and the cool thing is, it automatically knows your platform’s configuration. So you just hit publish and it does. And with that….. {click}

  2. Livewriter is my online BFF! It is so easy to use prior posts as a template for new posts as well. Especially if you are linking up to memes. :)

    Sounds great. I have two problems: I have a Mac (I am not a snob, though; I just switched two weeks ago…really). I use WordPress, but am not hosted by them; I wonder if it still works. Sounds great, though!

  9. I’ve got some good scoop for you! I switched to a Mac recently (I needed the video editing software that comes pre-loaded so I could finish my online nutrition class that’s coming out soon!) but I was so sad about losing my WLW which I love love LOVE. Then my techy friend told me I could run any windows program on a Mac by setting up a virtual machine – woohoooooo, now I have both!!! It doesn’t work AS simply as in a PC, but it’s still way better than writing posts without WLW.

    I LUUURRRRRRRVE Windows Live Writer. My co-blogger (and BFF) has a Mac. Is there a way to use this on the Mac? Or is she just out of luck? AND any Mac users have a blog platform they love?

    Whoa! I’m SO not a snob! (But I love my Mac).

    I heard there is a beta version somewhere out there for Mac “users” (as we like to be called ;) but I figure that I don’t know what I’m missing, so I’m ok…

    But now you have me curious…

    :)

  15. So do you just copy and past things into your post? Becuse I have been having problems with copying into my blog (wordpress.org) recently. I am frequently having extra stuff added here or there, and then I have to go through and figure out how it should be.
    Maybe I should just check it out. because I could go for easy right about now

    no you actually just hit publish right from Live Writer. You don’t have to cut and paste at all. And you can preview from Live Writer as well.

  17. Wow, I would LOVE to be able to check out my post before publishing it (esp. for those ones I can only “preview” because I want them to be published later). Have to check this out.
