One of the most successful campaigns to prevent SIDS has been the campaign to get you to put your baby on your back to sleep. Much to the aggravation of mothers and mother in laws everywhere who say things like, “We slept you on your stomach and you were fine.” We did the back sleeping thing with both kids cause frankly the campaign is so successful that it really scares the crap out of you to try anything else. No pillows, no blankets, no stuffed animals, just a baby in the middle of the crib. With a monitor on her turned up very loud even though you live in a tiny condo where you can hear every noise.
Now, they have added the recommendation of the fan. Apparently the fan circulates the air which helps something, I am unsure of the science. And science was my major. Look how far I’ve come professors. Anywho, the combo of the fan and no blankets leads to an added stress. Is your baby too cold? That is when I discovered sleep sacks. I had a couple of the cozy Halo ones for both my girls. But, when the people of Aden & Anais contacted me about their sleep sacks, I was really intrigued. Their sleepsacks are made from 100% cotton muslin fabric so they are very light and breathe well. Perfect for summer or for those of you who don’t live in the tundra during winter.
Other great features: an inverted zipper so it zips up from the bottom. Much easier to deal with diaper changes in the middle of the night. Super soft fabric that apparently gets softer with every wash. Finally, super cute. Seriously, super cute. And I went ahead and got a boy one since I don’t feel like putting my little man in his sister’s pink sleep sacks. I am sure there will be enough dressing up as a princess to require therapy either way. I got this super cute one for baby #3.
I don’t know what the temp is there, but here it is HOT. The perfect weather to try out a Aden and Anais sleepsack. And I have one for you to try. You even get to pick the size and the pattern. Perfect for your little one or as a gift. To enter, just head over to their website and tell me what pattern you like in the comments. For an extra entry, tweet about this giveaway and leave me your link. That easy. I will pick a winner next Tues night.
