Works For Me Wednesday- Routine, Routine, Routine

October 14, 2008

I suck at establishing routines. Do something for 21 days and it will become a habit. I am lucky if I get past 3 days. So I need any help I can get.

Now, the kids routines, I am stickler. Naptime, mealtime, bedtime…got it down. In fact, don’t even think about coming around and messing the routine or you will have to mess with me. Since most of you haven’t seen me, let’s just pretend I am huge and quite threatening. Wait, I don’t want to be huge. I am a size 2 with a black belt.

So in a moment of brilliance, I decided to combat my lack of ability to stick to a routine with my rigid ability to maintain one for the girls. Voila, my new nighttime routine.

You see I realize, in theory that I should wash my face night to get off the makeup and sticky kisses that build up during the day. But remembering when I am stumbling to bed way past my bedtime after wasting the night away on Facebook just didn’t seem to be happening. Hence the puberty like acne that has developed on my forehead.

So I needed a program. Clearly. So now when I put the kids to bed and they are doing their whole brush teeth, go potty, get pjs on, clean up room, “Did you hear me I said, it is time to go to bed…Hubby quit getting them all wound up!!!” routine, I do mine. Face gets washed, beauty restored.

For more great tips that will make you beautiful (well, at least on the inside), head on over to Rocks In My Dryer.

That sounds like a great way to do it! They can also learn by watching your example that it is important to always wash your face at night!

The exactly when I wash my face too! It’s great because as soon as the kids are in bed I can turn off my brain and meld into the couch.

That sounds like a great time to wash my face… I’ll have to try it, I should have plenty of time while yelling at Hubby to quit making Lil Sugar hyper :)

How like-minded we are. I just wrote out everything I need to get done before I go to bed each night. Unfortunately, it is 2 pages long and I would have to start about 10:00 am in order to accomplish it so it’s not such a great plan.

Never wash my face before bed. Hubby gets grossed out by the mascara and eye shadow smudges on my pillow. I should start. Might clear up the unsightly blotches on my face, too. Good tip.
