If you only knew how little attention I have paid to any sort of beauty regimen since Silas has been born you would click over to someone else for beauty advice. Showering seems to have fallen way down on the priority list, replaced by sleep, food and more sleep. So unless large bags under your eyes are the “it” look for fall, I am not sure beauty tips should be my expertise.
But back in the day (2 weeks ago to be exact) I used to care much more about my appearance. Actually who are we kidding, 2 weeks ago I was nine months pregnant. Apperance was falling way behind sleep, food and more sleep. The more things change…..the more they stay the same.
Anywho, the point is I used to care about beauty. I don’t like to leave the house without a little makeup and try to keep up with the latest fashion and beauty trends. I even occasionally contribute articles about fashion and beauty over at Blissfully Domestic. So I don’t know if you noticed, but I have a little widget in my left sidebar that gives you all a beauty tip of the day.
Here it is. Go ahead, click around, I’ll wait…. :
I don’t know if you have noticed it, because it is kind of small, but I will tell you my favorite tip so far. I am super lazy when it comes to taking my makeup off at night and I know my skin is going to pay for it big time in the future. So if you are lazy, stash a few packs of Pond’s Wet Cleansing Towlettes in your nightstand so you can do it from bed. How much more lazy can you be? But makeup is off and you can go to bed knowing your skin won’t suffer for your laziness.
The widget is sponsored by Unilever and the tips are for body, hair and face using their products. And their tips come from top fashion and beauty stylists as well as dermatologists and other experts. And Unilever wants to give you the chance to win a gift basket of their products you can use to beautify yourself. To enter, simply leave a comment with your favorite beauty tips, from the widget or otherwise. The winner will be picked next Tues night, Oct. 27 by Random.org. Good luck!
*Disclaimer: I was not financially compensated for this post. I was given a small gift pack of Unilever products but the opinions of this post are all my own.

Here’s hopin’…Lol I absolutely love the Ponds Cleansing cloths (and the CVS knock-offs!) for taking my make-up off at night! I also use the Dove Skin Vitalizer, for those rare evenings when I have time to “pamper” my face!

Use olive oil as a moisturizer for your face. Seems weird, but if you mix in equal parts castor oil and a drop of an essential oil, it works really well. It is natural and has no weird chemicals.

Beauty tip–um never rub your eyes . . . you’ll be sorry –if you have . . . pile on the dove and pond’s creams.

Oh, here’s one: coconut oil is a great natural, healthy skin softener. I love to use it after a shave, or any time i might use lotion. I also used it on my belly as it was growing.
Oh yeah! little baby H is here – Aiden Timothy

b/c my water started leaking early, I had to be induced half a week past the due date.

Great giveaway! Thanks for the opportunity!
Beauty tip? I am the WRONG one to ask! Here is goes though…give your skin time to breathe away from makeup. I take mine off each evening as soon as I know I’m in the for the night (sometimes as early as when I get home from work). I put on moisturizer to replenish it and let it breathe on its own without makeup.

As an older(!) woman who is reaping what I sowed in earlier years, ladies, if you do nothing else, cleanse, and moisturize! I thought I didn’t need to moisturize because I had oily skin, but I woke up one day and realized I had “crossed over”. There is oil-free moisturizer available, and my advice is–use it!
