So I am just going to assume that all you web/world savvy women (and the occasional male reader of mine) have heard of Wikipedia. It’s like an online encyclopedia about….well just about everything. But what if someone developed an online encyclopedia for moms? Someone has and named it, Mamapedia. I don’t know why, but I just love that name. The best thing is all of the knowledge and information is assembled for moms, by moms.
I don’t know about you, but I have found some of my best tips on this journey of motherhood come from other moms. Who else can you turn to to find out about why hair is growing in weird places and how to get you kids to eat vegetables? When I clicked over just now, I instantly found info on how to do an at home bikini wax (no thank you), how to talk to your daughter about sex (please not yet), and whether or not having a crush in 1st grade is too young (I think so, but am pretty sure my Kindergartner has one, God help us).
The questions and answers are constantly being updated. If you want to register with the site, you can post your own questions and give your two cents to other people’s questions. You can also search topics by age and even by location. I typed my city in the search bar and found all sorts of recommendations for local providers and things to do. I think this is a great new resource whether you are a vetran or a brand new mommy. Sometimes it is just nice to hear someone else with the same questions as you. Of course, you shouldn’t take this as your bible or stop using professional opinions, but I think mommy wisdom is some of the best wisdom around.
