Here are some fun things going on around the web and on Twitter this week:
- Blue Light Specials are back, and to celebrate in style Kmart will be giving shoppers on Twitter a chance to win a $50 gift card everyday! In addition to the chance to win daily, everyone following @KmartDealsnNews on Twitter will be automatically entered for a chance to win a $500 Kmart shopping spree – how cool is that?! The sweepstakes runs from November 12th until December 23rd . Winning couldn’t get easier – all you have to do is follow @KmartDealsnNews on Twitter from your personal Twitter account and issue a Tweet everyday using our hashtag: #KmartBLS. Each day is a new opportunity to win, so the more often you tweet – the better your chances are to win a Daily prize! For more info on sweepstakes details, check out: http://tr.im/kmartBLS, and for Official Rules: http://tr.im/kmartBLSrules. {I will be all over this. Kmart has really stepped it up as of late. They have been doing a lot of outreach with bloggers and I am very impressed with what I have seen. If you have a Kmart near you, you should definitely check them out.}
- Seventh Generation and millions of babies are crawling to Washington to demand a law that will regulate toxic chemicals found in household products. Check it out: http://www.seventhgeneration.com/million-baby-crawl/ The fact of the matter is that very little research has been done to uncover the possible effects that household cleaning agents can have on children and pregnant women, and this bill aims to correct that. Check out these cute videos about the cause. Here’s a fun videos about the cause: http://www.youtube.com/user/SeventhGeneration#p/c/597EF95B76FBC492/2/a7b67Ul0YP0
{serious cuteness and a great cause}
- Care.com wants to honor parents, babysitters, nannies, senior home care aides, and other family caregivers in celebration of National Family Caregiver Month this November. Beginning today through November 30, participants can nominate the caregiver they think most deserves to be named a Care Hero by visiting www.facebook.com/caredotcom, sharing a photo of the care provider and a writing short story of why they should be honored. Care.com will then select weekly winners based on a combination of the most-deserving nominations and user comments, leading up to the selection of one overall winner who will be named the 2010 Care.com Care Hero. The winning Care Hero will receive a $500 self-designed “Care Package” including hotel stay, tickets to a show and dinner all in the city courtesy of Care.com. Care.com will also give a $100 restaurant gift certificate in appreciation to the person who nominates the winning Care Hero. Each weekly winner will receive a $100 restaurant gift certificate in recognition of their service and dedication as a Care Hero.
To enter, participants must visit the Care Hero Facebook page, share a photo of their Care Hero, and write up to 150 words on why they have nominated that caregiver. {What an amazing opportunity to honor someone who is helping make your life easier!}
That’s it for this week.

I LOVE Kmart, and am proud the say that we use their layaway every year. It helps us stick to our strict budget, and they have almost all the same gifts as the other stores. I love even more that Kmart has the online layaway, for things you can’t find in their stores. It is fabulous. I will definitely be checking their sweepstakes out!
