Top Ten Tuesday- My Top 10 Quirks

You know how you think you are totally normal and then you bring things up to people and they look at you like you have three heads? Yeah, well for me, these are some of the reason why.

  1. When I adjust the volume on a radio or TV I get really twitchy unless the volume is a multiple of five. Really twitchy.
  2. I have mentioned several times my anal-ness about the dishwasher. It must be loaded a certain way. So much so that I find myself reorganizing it in other people’s houses.
  3. I can’t eat meat off a bone. It completely creeps me out. So as a grown woman, my hubby has to cut meat off the bone for me. Even at fancy dinners. I’m surprised I don’t grab a bib while I am at it.
  4. I take terrible care of my teeth. It is shameful. I won’t go into detail about my sad, sad habits lest a dentist is reading this and comes to hunt me down. But I have never had a cavity. A fact that drives my brush 3 times a day, flossing, regular check up getting……cavity ridden hubby nuts.
  5. I desperately want to take tap dancing lessons. I have never taken a dance lesson in my life. But I am convinced I would be an AMAZING tap dancer.
  6. I know every word to the Breakfast Club. Every. word. And would be happy to show you if you would like to come over and watch the movie with me.
  7. I really don’t like walking on the left hand side of people. Again. Twitchy.
  8. If I visit someplace where people have accents I pick it up within minutes of arriving. This might have driven my hubby a bit nuts when we visited London. I say “Bollocks” to that.
  9. I don’t like beer. Or coffee. When I was in college people swore I would learn to like both. I didn’t. And still don’t.
  10. I dunno. Is it quirky to only be able to come up with nine quirky things about yourself?

I am totally with you on number 2. We lived w/ my in-laws while building our house and it drove me crazy that it wasn’t loaded “my way.” I totally always reloaded it correctly. LOL :-)

  2. Uh, you and I are like, the same person or something. ESPECIALLY #’s 2 and 4. It’s insane really.

I do the same thing with the tv volume! And the car radio! Now here’s one for you: when eating candy like m&m’s, I like to eat the colors in rainbow order. Thanks for sharing your quirks. We can all appreciate our own a little more.

I so can’t eat meat off the bone either… Nasty!!! I can’t even watch my hubby disect a piece of chicken or turkey!!!

I just did a post on quirks last week and realized I had way more after I had read what others had posted… So I could probably come up with 9 too!

Ditto to #9. And my #6 is Dead Poets Society. Every word. And #3 (though I can do the cutting myself) and also #4 and kind of #8 particularly with a southern drawl. (Hmmm, I’m starting to sound pretty quirky too.) However, I don’t need lessons to know that I would not be any good at tap dancing. ;-)

  6. Love it! #9 makes me laugh, I’ve always wondered why you’d want to spend alot of time acquiring a taste for something!

Yet, you have a aquired a taste for wine. Fun list, I love the word ‘quirky’…it just makes me want to say it out loud over and over! :)

  8. BIG ditto to #3, #8 and #9. I don’t make my husband cut up my boned meat (wow, that sounds WRONG), but I want to. And the beer and coffee thing: people say it’s an acquired taste. Um, why would I want to ACQUIRE a taste for something that’s ultimately going to be bad for me? I’ve got enough trouble with the chocolate and the nachos, thankyouverymuch!

I so agree with not eating meat off the bone. My family picks on me for it, but I just can’t do it.

My girlfriends used to tell me to “someday you’ll grow up” when I said I didn’t like coffee. Well at 40 I still don’t like it and I am pretty certain I am considered all grown up now. LOL! I don’t like beer either.

My husband and I are both horrible with the volume thing, don’t care if it’s too loud, it has to be 30 not 28!

  16. Oh how I love you! You crack. me. up.

I would say we are kindred spirits as I don’t like coffee or beer either. (Next time we are together we can go get some ice cream – I will let you walk on the right). AND I am the same way about my teeth. Weird.

However, would you believe me if I told you I had NEVER watched the Breakfast Club? It is true. Perhaps we could do that after we get ice cream. Or better yet, you could just recite and act it out for me! :)

Awesome! I had to laugh at #1 because I do the same thing. Volumes must be in multiples of 5 or even numbers. :)
And I never had a cavity until I was 20 and then it was very very small. That’s it!
