Very impressive! Way to go “mom”!
I was one of those silly people who went out for cross-country in high school. And actually did it for 4 years! Never finished better than “close to last”, but I did manage to finish! I’m not really an athlete either and I’m really not sure why I did it. It’s one of those things that’s an anomaly in my life!

My mom is in better shape than me also – at 66! But I have to say that in the past year I have managed to begin exercising and I feel great. I wish I could run (I know, that does sound funny) but I have a strange condition in my knees and have been instructed not to run by my orthopedic surgeon. Oh well.

This was a sweet story :)

CONGRATULATIONS , JAN!! I wept for joy for you when I talked to Craig yesterday and realized YOU WERE REALLY RUNNING 26.2 MILES! I WEPT AS YOU REMEMBERED RUNNING A MILE WITH DAD, and I’m weeping again as I read Jill’s tribute to you and saw the picture of you and Lily crossing the finish line! We, too, are incredibly proud of your accomplishment but also of your focused and purposeful obedience to God as He challenges you to go further than you have ever gone before. This is the beginning of the next phase of your service to Him. WAY TO GO, GIRL!!!!!!!!!!!!

I give God all the glory. He brought me to it and He brought me through it. It wouldn’t have been nearly as sweet without all of the prayers and support from family and friends and especially my patient husband!! I am truly blessed and glad that the run is done!!

I can’t say it any better than Auntie N. We are so, so proud of your accomplishments, but even more than that to the fact that you are so tuned in to God’s leading. You are an inspiration to all who know you. I love you!

Wow! That is truly impressive and inspiring for sure (not your XC stories, your mom running the race).

  14. That’s awesome. There is definitely something to be proud of finishing a marathon or any race for that matter. There’s also something to be proud of in faking a knee injury well enough to get out of a race. That too is a practiced sport :)

Wow, congrats to your mom! How awesome is that. And that pic of Lily crossing the finish with her is far to precious for words.

That is truly amazing! Congratulations to your mom. I’ve now finished two 5Ks, and that’s probably the longest race I’ll ever do.

haha. I’m so proud of your Mom and your daughter. :)
    I run.
don’t really know if I enjoy it.
but I’m hoping I’ll see results from it.
I’m aiming to lose 60 pounds this year.
Last year, I lost 40, so now 60 more to go.
I haven’t lost any yet, this year. Don’t know what’s happening!!!

    thanks for the read.
I was in the neighborhood and thought I’d stop by.
    catch you around,
    D
