Tis The Season- Sticks and Stones (Giveaway!!)

gift I am so excited about this post, I have been waiting for it all weekend. Partly because it is such a fantastic gift idea and partly because I am so thrilled for a good friend of mine and the success she has found in her company. So successful in fact that I first learned about it in an issue of People magazine when it mentioned that Oprah bought on of these for TomKat on their wedding. As a person who has an admittedly sad fascination with pop culture, it doesn’t get much better than that kind of exposure.

Jera Hull Deal was a college friend and sorority sister at my small alma mater in Illinois, Augustana College. I lost touch with nearly everyone I held dear after school when I relocated to the East coast for graduate school, but thank God for Facebook where I have reconnected with so many people. And one of my favorite things about Facebook, is how many of my friends who knew me during a time I wasn’t walking much in my faith have become Christians as they get married and have children. Jera is one of those friends. So I am thrilled to be able to highlight her amazing company as a great gift idea for the holidays.

The story of how Sticks and Stones came to be is a great one. Basically a game of I Spy combined with learning the alphabet with her children led to a photography collection of letters that they had discovered in nature and architecture. An idea was born and took off from there. Now the company’s products have been featured by Oprah, Martha Stewart and Rachel Ray. Oh and one hangs in a certain large white house in DC. And now, one hangs in mine.

These are of the highest quality and absolutely gorgeous. I have seen many, many knock offs and imitations in the past few years and I can say honestly they don’t hold a candle to these. I chose to have our last name done in the walnut wood frame. They are highly personalized. You have your choice of many letters, six different frames and any word you want. And the finished product is just stunning.

sticksandstones Am I gushing a bit? Absolutely. There is truly nothing like it. And truly, the picture does not do it justice.
