Things I Love Thursday- Sleep Number (GIVEAWAY)

One of the things no one tells you about marriage is the temperature thing. If you’re married you know of what I speak. I am always cold. My hubby is always hot. This is brutal on car trips. I am shivering under 10 coats in the dead of winter and my hubby practically has the air conditioning on. The heat apparently makes his feet sweat. So he tries and put the heat on my face. Which everyone knows is not the way to run the heat in the car. Heat goes on your feet, air conditioning goes on your face. Never shall the two be reversed. It is a wonder we ever ride in the car together.

Then there is the bedroom. I think I might be a bit high maintenance when it comes to sleeping temperature (I almost wrote I was high maintenance in the bedroom, but that seemed inappropriate). I like a lot of blankets on my when I sleep. Even in the summer. Because I like the room to be really cold. I would prefer a fan on me. Even in the dead of the winter. My hubby doesn’t really want covers on. And forget about the fan. I am thinking that sleeping in separate room thing from the 1950s is sounding pretty good right now.

Enter NASA. Seriously, we turn to NASA for all our marital problems, don’t you? You’ve heard of those sleep number mattresses where each person gets to pick the firmness of their side of the mattress (solving marital problems right there). Well Sleep Number has expanded their line and it now includes blankets, sheets, mattress pads and pillows. The In Balance Blanket uses NASA technology that reduces temperature swings. The claim is that it keeps you warm when it is cool and cool when it is hot.

I gotta tell ya, it works. Maybe I am just a sucker for marketing, but I consulted the hubby and he agrees. We are sleeping like babies. Or we would be if the actual baby would…..sleep like a baby. It keeps me so warm and cozy that I don’t want to get out of bed. Although truth be told that is pretty much par for the course. I can’t wait to see what happens in the summer when it is hot. If I can be under a big old blanket and still say cool I will be in sleep heaven. Oh, I should also mention that it is hypoallergenic and down filled.

Downside? This blanket is pricey. It’s on sale right now (through April 3rd) and that helps a little, but it is still pricey. So this might be a Christmas/ Birthday list kind of thing. But if you can swing it I think you should go for it. Cause you can’t put a price on a good night’s sleep.

How would you like to win one? To enter, head over and let me know what In Balance Bedding Product you would most like to try. *Email must be provided for Sleep Number, so you can be added to their mailing list to receive emails about products and deals. They will never sell your information. Required for entering this giveaway ( you can opt out via the email link).

For extra entries (You MUST leave a separate comment for each entry):

Winner will be drawn via random.org. Contest will end next Wed night, Mar. 31.

*Disclosure: I received a blanket from Select Comfort to facilitate my review, but as always, all opinions are my own.

I like the In Balance Blanket. I need some kind of weight on me, even in the summer. I also liked the Pillow protectors. Then I don’t have to flip to find the ‘cool’ spot!

I didn’t know they had blankets, too. We have the mattress and not only does it cut back on dh’s snoring but he actually sleeps at night. Maybe the blanket will solve the 2 blankets in bed issue.

  32. After comparing the In-Balance Sheets and Blanket, I’d have to go with the blanket. We both like blankets year round and sheets have to get washed to frequently and we’d need more than one set. So, we’d LOVE a blanket to go with our sleep-number bed that has been wonderful for my husband, but not as good for me. That’s OK. He’s the one who needed it. And I DO like it, just not nearly as much as I thought. It’s nothin’ special to me. So please enter me for the blanket.

I would most like to try the In Balance Blanket. I used to be cold all the time and both my hubby and I slept great together at night – but since I gave birth to my second child – also known as “the furnace” I have not been able to cool down.
I am hot all night long and my husband is cold – especially since I want the window open, fan on – you name it.
I dream of being able to sleep through the night and not be woken up because I am hot – kids… well that is a given right?
