Things I Love Thursday- Remembering To Give Thanks

November 27, 2008

Instead of plugging a product today, I just wanted to take a moment and talk about the truly important things I love.

God has blessed me with a wonderful husband who brings me chocolate, rubs my feet and makes crafts with the kids so I don’t have to. He has a million other qualities, but those are just the reasons I love him from the last couple of hours.

My kids bring me so much joy and laughter. Sometimes even when they are supposed to be in trouble they will do something so hysterical that I can’t help but giggle. They amaze me everyday and I am so blessed to be able to stay home and raise them.

I have such wonderful parents who raised me in a loving household and taught me about Jesus. I owe so much to them. They also gave me a great brother who I have enjoyed getting closer to as we get older. He is a great uncle and will soon be a great dad. And he, despite a few scares, married a wonderful woman who I am so excited to watch become a mom too. Mostly cause I know she will be awesome at it.

I married a man with great parents too. I have managed to avoid the in-law horrors they make movies about. Clearly they are wonderful to have raised such an amazing person. We have made one big happy family and as cheesy at that sounds, it really is true.

Mostly I am thankful that I have a God who is patient with me and loves me even when I am a big screw up. I am thankful I live in a country where I can worship him freely and for the men and woman who make that possible as we speak.

Hope you have a great Thanksgiving and that you can take time out of all the eating and deal hunting to be thankful for all your blessings.

Happy Thanksgiving! Before we ate today, each of us said what we were thankful for. With that and starting the day in church, it was a wonderful day! We should remember to count our blessings every day, not just the fourth Thursday in November!

Well said- I completely agree. I enjoy reading your blog. I laugh and I cry- I love how you can write your thoughts so clearly. I admire that-especially because I am not gifted at that. I hope you and your family have a wonderful Holiday Season!
