I discovered Pirate’s Bootybefore I even had children. And by discovered I may mean that I bought some and devoured a whole bag in one sitting. Then once I had kids, I realized they were a great snack for the littlest of eaters because they practically dissolve in your mouth. Then as those kids grew and became quite picky, I discovered Veggie Booty. It is “booty” covered in kale and other various vegetable powders. Yeah, I thought it was gross too, but my kids who thought sweet potatoes were foul and disgusting ate Veggie Booty like it was going out of style. So I did what any good mama would do, called it a vegetable and patted myself on the back.
Well unbeknownsed to me, the good folks over at Robert’s Gourmet have rolled out a whole bunch of flavors of Pirate’s Booty. First of all they are made with rice and corn, baked, trans fat and gluten free and between 130 and 140 calories a serving. I am just going to pretend that a serving is a big ole bag cause I can’t eat these in small portions. Are you starting to get the picture that these are a weakness for me. I feel so much better about eating them then so many other “chip” like products that I tend to go a bit overboard. But they are HEALTHY!! And I can pronounce and identify EVERY single one of the ingredients. So that means a whole bag is probably good for you right?
So here are there flavors: Aged White Cheddar (the original), Veggie Booty (vegan too), BBQ, Sea Salt & Vinegar (not my thing, but my hubby’s favorite), Bermuda Onion and Golden Caramel
. Think something between a rice cake and a cheese puff and you probably have the right idea. The original and veggie flavors are definitely the easiest to find in stores, but the other flavors are definitely worth hunting around for and the snack sized bags
are perfect for school lunches. {FYI- links to the snack pack sizes are to Amazon where they are easily found and they are affiliate links. Also Robert’s Gourmet provided me with a sample pack of all their new flavors for this review}.
I should also probably FYI you that writing this post made me so hungry that I went and ate a snack pack while I was writing. I tell you these things are laced with some sort of addictive substance cause I just can’t stop eating them!! Anyway- what do you love this week? Write up a post (use these guidelines to help you) and link up down below. And if it is food related I swear to you that I might just have to make a late night store run because I can’t seem to stop myself.

Jack and Ben LOVE them some Veggie Booty! I find it revolting, personally, but like you said, I’m happy to feed it to my child and call it a vegetable! Green fingers and all!
As for me, I’ll devour an entire bag of aged cheddar by myself ANY day.
Also, I just like an excuse to say “booty” on a regular basis.

Hi,
We’re regular followers of your blog and I was wondering if you’d be willing to post about our new site, http://www.Mamabuzz.com? We are looking for Mama’s who blog, to join our reviewing team and we need them ASAP! We have several tours lined up and not enough reviewers (never thought we’d be saying that! lol)
We need mama’s of infants through to Seniors in high school — especially needing to fill out mamas of teens right now, on our team.
If you do blog about this for us, can you note that several of our companies will be religious based, like Zondervan and Thomas Nelson, so many of our reviews will be of that nature? In fact, our first tours will be fiction books for teens, from Thomas Nelson Publishers (a religious company).
Mama Buzz will be reviewing everything from books to toys to DVD’s, to family oriented games. All books/products will be complimentary to our reviewers.
Thanks so much for helping us spread word!

I seriously had to force myself to stop. My daughter asks me if I know how to make puffed rice. man, oh, man I wish I did now that I have had it. It’d probably be a lot cheaper.
Like I said before, “you had me at first puff”.
