Being the mom to 2 girls, our house is pretty Disney Princess-ified. To think there was a time when I was childless and I swore to my friends who were mothers of little girls that MY daughters would not be Disney Princess obsessed. It seems to be hard wired into them. I was powerless against the pull of Ariel and her equally disproportionately curvy friends.
So I jumped up and down when I was asked to review the Disney Pix Jr. digital camera by Digital Blue. The Disney Princess version. I knew my crowning as “Super Mom” would take place the minute that package arrived in the mail. My girls have the Fisher Price digital camera and love it, but there is only one of it and two of them and apparently taking pictures of the carpet and ceiling is just to appealing to share the thing. Plus it isn’t pink and princessy.
To say they love it would be an understatement. Because, get this, you can choose from a whole host of princess overlays so it looks like you are standing next to Cinderella (or insert favorite princess here) in your picture. Look, it’s Cinderella on the ceiling, Cinderella on the wall, Cinderella upside down on the fireplace. The possibilities are endless.
Here are some other facts you should know:
- 1.3 Megapixels
- Rubber grips make it easy to handle and hard to destroy
- Holds up to 150 photos with 32 MB of storage
- Requires AA batteries, but has a long battery life
- Because of the memory it allows kids to snap pictures quickly with easily labeled buttons that don’t require reading.
I am also impressed that this camera has won the 2008 Oppenheim Toy Portfolio Gold and Platinum Seal Awards and is a 2008 iParenting Media Award Winner. It also won a few other awards, but I seriously use the above two regularly to discover new toys cause I trust those awards. The consistently pick great, innovative toys and I have yet to be steered wrong.
Here is the great news. I have another camera to give away to a lucky reader. It is the Mickey Mouse version you see here. Isn’t that a great giveaway? I would love for you to win it and here is how:
- Leave a comment on this post. I would love something better than just “pick me”, like flattery, but any comment will do.
- Participate in Things I Love Thursday by linking up your own post. Please read the guidelines here. If you participate you need to leave a SECOND comment telling me you linked up. Yes, I know I can see that on Mr. Linky, but I draw winners from the comments so if you have earned a second entry you have to leave me a comment letting me know. Please follow the guidelines or your second entry will not count.
That’s all folks. The contest will be open until next Thursday March 5 (how the heck is it March already?) at which time I will use random.org to pick a winner. Good luck!!

My daughter is always asking me to take a picture. It would be great for her to have her own camera.

I am a “lurker” and have never commented on your blog, though I read it often. Funny you should post this giveaway now, because my mom informed me a couple of days ago that my 3 year old daughter (who will be 4 in April) asked her for a camera for her birthday and told her that she “can just go to wal-mart and get it.” I would love to win this camera for her birthday!

We are completely “princessfied” too now that my oldest is 3 and in dance class. Of course her little sister isn’t allowed to be a princess. We would love that camera, although I will need to buy one as well if we win so we won’t having any fighting about who gets to take another pic of the ceiling! Awesome giveaway mama..

E would love this! She’d have so much fun. I never thought I’d have a princess crazed child…but she’s getting there quickly.

My kids have our old broken digital camera, it powers on and records audio but won’t take pictures. Winning this would make their play time a bit less pathetic

This is such a cute camera! My 2-yr-old daughter is absolutely in love with everything Mickey Mouse, so this would make her day! It would also get her to stop wanting to hold our camera and my praying she won’t drop it!

This would be a great camera for my four year old cousin and when I am at my mamaws when she is there she’s always trying to take pictures with my camera or phone and I’m afraid she will break it. This would be wonderful for her.

Hi! I linked to your site from another (scribbit). Now I have to spend some time here! Anyway, I’d love to win the camera because I gave my son my old one, and my daughter is starting to show some interest-I don’t want anyone touching mine!!
