Things I Love Thursday- Born Free

tilt Sorry I haven’t been blogging much this week, but I have good reason: sam *It has always been my policy to not show pics of my kids or use their real names, but this calls for some showing off right? He needs a blog name though so that will be revealed tomorrow along with all the gory birth details :)

And what I love this week is OF COURSE baby related. I might have mentioned before that a while back we went on a massive plastic purge in our house in an effort to get rid of BPA. Which meant bottles, pacifiers and a whole bunch of sippy cups. My girls had outgrown all of them anyway and too many were pink which wasn’t going to work for a baby boy so….2 birds, one stone.

But now that baby boy is here he needs some replacements. I first learned about Born Free when I won some products in a blog giveaway from my friend, The Happy Housewife. Their products are all natural, completely free of Bisphenol-A (BPA), Phthalates and PVC. Otherwise known as yucky bad stuff that does yucky bad stuff to your baby. And they have a great range of products for new babies all the way to older kids. Perfect for our family.

First off their bottles have 5 different nipple flow rates, have been proven to reduce colic & ear infections and are dishwasher safe (a big must for me). They also sent me a glass bottle which I have been really leaning toward, but was worried about how they hold up in a house where things seem to break easily. Well their glass bottles come with a silicone sleeve for protection.

Second, they have these great transitional cups for the bottle to sippy. I don’t know about you, but I find this process painful. It never seems to go that smoothly and I am never quite sure what I am doing. But these cups have a soft spout that is close to a bottle and handles to make holding on easy. And it has an inner valve like a bottle so the child doesn’t have to suck as hard to get the liquid out. They also make a normal sippy cup and a stainless steel water bottle for the older kiddos.

Then, their pacifiers. I like that they have an orthodontic nipple and aren’t too big. I have to be honest, I am not a huge fan of the logo on them, but that is a minor thing to me. And I never even thought of teethers when I was doing the plastics purge, but thankfully with Born Free, it is one less thing I have to worry about.

*Disclosure: Born Free sent me some of their products to sample in order to review. Some of the other products I mentioned were products I won as I stated above. I did not receive any financial compensation for my review and all opinions, as always, are mine alone.

What is it you love this week (besides that freakin’ adorable picture of my new little man :) ? Link up your post with Mr. Linky down below. Please link to your actual post instead of your blog so that people can find you easily. And make sure to visit other TILT posts, I have been finding some great products lately when I surf around. What a beautiful baby boy! Congrats to you and your family! I just had my second son 2 1/2 weeks ago, and had similar labor to yours, lots of contractions, not a lot of regularity at first. Praying you survive the transition to 3 kids and sleep deprivation!

I’m thinking of a tiny little paper hat for him, a la our BlogHer luncheon. Maybe, “It’s socially acceptable for me to poop my pants”?

I’m with stephanie – happy with you but STILL PREGNANT.

I think it’s fine you posted a pic of the little one (whose real name I won’t mention, of course) — in two weeks, he’ll look different anyway.

If you haven’t already decided on a blogname for Baby Boy, you could continue the flower/plant theme you started with Lily and call him Ashton or Ross or Oliver or Heath or Hayden — all boy plant names.

Or David. Which somehow seems to fit. (To me anyway, which doesn’t mean much.)

    CONGRATS again!!!
