Things I Love Thursday- Arnold Sandwich Thins

July 1, 2009

tilt It has been a while since I have done a TILT post without a review attached. Just a good old fashioned post about something I absolutely love and want you to go seek out high and low so it can change your life too. What? You didn’t know a bun could be life changing?

Arnold Sandwich Thins are buns on a diet. And I love any form of carb so the fact I would recommend something that has less bread in it should impress you. They are just like a cross between a bun and an english muffin. Someone in marketing really dropped the ball when they didn’t call it a buffin. Or maybe that is why I have never been hired for a job in marketing.

I just like them because I can make a lunchmeat sandwich on them and it doesn’t feel so heavy. And when I make a burger I actually taste more burger than bun which isn’t always the case. And they are rather guilt free at 100 calories and 5 grams of fiber. You know I love me some fiber. Also no trans fat or high fructose corn syrup (the evils of food). Best part? Unlike a normal bun, you can throw them in the toaster if you want and they actually fit.

I get mine at Costco in a huge pack, but to be honest I haven’t even looked for them in the regular grocery store. You can head over to Arnold’s website, enter your zip code and see if they sell them near you. They would be a perfect thing to check out during summer barbecue season.

So what do you love this week. I am really excited to see our carnival growing and sincerely hope that you are benefiting from some increased traffic and finding some blogs to regularly visit. That being said, lately some of what is being posted for “Things I Love Thursday” really has nothing to do with the spirit of the blog carnival which I think can be frustrating for people trying to visit blogs looking for things to love. So please take a moment to re-read the guidelines and make sure the post you are linking to fits what we are trying to do.

Some other tips to make the carnival run smoothly. If you can, use the button somewhere in your post. That helps unify us and makes it easy for readers to find their way back here in case they want to link up too. The more the carnival grows, the more it will benefit you as a participant. Also make sure you are linking to your actual TILT post and not just your blog. If people try to click over on another day, they may have trouble finding what you are doing. Finally, when you link up, it is really helpful to put in parenthesis what your post is about. That gives everyone a little preview of what they will find at your site. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to ask by using the contact button up top my blog.

Ok, enough of the rule stuff. Ugh, I hate that part. Just link up and tell me what you love!!

Thanks for the recommendation. I just saw those on a end cap at the store on Tuesday. At first glance I thought they were like baby pitas…when I read what they were I wasn’t sure how they would be. I’ll pick some up the next time I’m there. Always good to have some variety in the sandwich department.

I know I am very late coming to this post however I must agree with you on the “loving” these sandwich thins. I was recently told how to count my carbs and what to look for when selecting carbs. This has been a journey of enlightenment as I have always been a chocoholic. So when I discussed the lifestyle changes required of me with my husband (who happens to do all of the grocery shopping) he invited me to go to the store & select items so he would know what to buy in the future.
Long story short we came across these Arnolds’s Sandwich Thins and decided to give them a try. We got the rye. And once home oh my! BLT ~excellent, Tomato with a bit of salad greens ~ wonderful. I even had peanut butter on one ~ it tasted great but was on the thin side I think if I want pb again I would add sliced fruit(apple) in order to give it a little more substance.
Any way thank you for sharing about these even though I didn’t pay any attention when you did ~ it came my way anyhow :)
