  1. Just as long as you’re still shaving your legs the next time I see you!! There’s alot of areas that we’ve definitely improved on. But there’s still some snack things I need to find replacements on. The expense is the biggest hurdle to get over. It stinks that healthy is expensive!! I think the summer will help – farmer markets are plentiful!! So that’s good!

That’s funny about the granola part :) . I can soooooooo relate- I have a friend that has nicknamed me that and always checks my legs to make sure I haven’t totally let myself go to “the dark side.” I’m going to have to look into that book- thanks for the heads up.

green smoothies are fine if you DON’T use frozen greens. Then they’re nasty.
    Just saying.
    Good luck :)

We’ve been doing some of the same things. haven’t gotten to the point of farm fresh eggs, but I’d like to. I made homemade bread, buns, rolls, etc. And I always have a stash of muffins, banana bread, granola bars, etc. in the freezer to throw in my husban’d lunch. it’s definitely more time consuming, but so worth it to know what you’re eating.

Our favorite use for kale is in soups. Put some in cream soups like potato soup, cream of chicken, etc.

I am doing a series (starting today!) on eating “Real Food on a Budget” so if you’re having trouble check it out!

  7. You have made some awesome changes. I will definitely be reading to see how everything is going for you. It is great that you have not only made decisions to eat food as God designed it, but also that you are supporting local agriculture!

    Keep up the good work.

Green smoothies are really good. You can’t even taste the “green”, especially if you use spinach. I find kale and chard to change the texture slightly. Whatever fruit you add really covers the flavor. My daughter actually prefers green smoothies to non-green ones!

  9. When you put it all together like that you guys are very impressive. I’m glad they are giving away this book – because I am going to go win it, right now.

I love books like this! Sometimes we all need to be reminded to eat more of THIS and less of “THAT” (in my case, tacos and twizzlers).
