I have been sitting and staring at a blank screen for hours. I really didn’t have anything frugal to say so I though maybe I would post some riveting update on my life since I have done so many product reviews this week. But I got nothing. NOTHING. I can tell you my secret to frugal summer sanity. Vacation Bible School. I am an abuser. But my kids love it and how can you go wrong with solid Christian education and a few hours of daily peace? That isn’t frugal, that is priceless.
This week I actually ponied up some cash and sent my kids to some artistic camps. Lily is off at a church arts camp where she is learning guitar and drama. She is amazing me with how much guitar she has picked up. Maybe she will fulfill my dream of being a rocker chick. And judging by some of her interactions with her sister, she is apparently excelling in drama. Ahem. Hannah went to Christian ballet camp and blossomed. Seriously, she takes it so seriously. During the performance all the other preschoolers are twirling at random and she is intently doing every. single. step. It melts my heart.
My absolute favorite thing this summer has been our CSA. Am I a broken record about it yet? I have been getting creative and having so much fun trying new recipes and seeing my kids try new things. Apparently if it comes from a farm they will try it. We even went and picked peas the other say and they were devouring them off the vine. A green veggie off the vine? Insanity.
So that is all I’ve got. Lamest post ever. What is your favorite thing about summer so far?

I’m loving my CSA too. I get it today…every Friday I get to wait with much anticipation to see the goodies in the crate.
And you are not a VBS abuser until your kid goes to at least 3 different ones at churches you’ve never attended. (And I have friends who do this!)

No CSA, but we’re having our most successful garden so far this year (third times the charm
), so I have to say one of my favorite things would have to be all the fresh cucumbers and zucchini… and all the green tomatoes out there getting ready to be delicious too!

Sometimes the most random posts are the best! I need to find a good CSA around us. There are so many good farmer’s markets, I find it easier to just go buy what I want but then we don’t try new things.
Can’t beat VBS! My kids have grown out of it – I’m so sad!

So sad, so far. I feel embarrassed and sad to say that I don’t have a favorite thing about summer. It’s been a regular summer with several (and I mean SEVERAL) disappointments. I’m stretched thin mentally, financially and physically. Geez, I sure am a party pooper tonight. I’ve enjoyed reading about others’ lives – does that count?
