that was beautiful. thank you for sharing…i needed to hear it. i often forget, as the “teacher”, to allow myself to be taught by those small people He has put into my care.
and next time…our family will be there too.

Beautiful!
And clearly you need to write up a playlist for me because I’d love to expose my boys to more worship songs.

I think the CD is called “Here I Am to Worship” for kids. And the I just download grown up worship songs I like and we listen to them together.

I am in tears reading this! What a precious time of worship! I absolutely love it when I walk into my daughter’s room and she’s listening to worship music. It’s so good to soak in the word of God through song.
And “In Christ Alone” is one of my all time faves! The Truth in that song…

Best. Post. Ever.
We keep our daughter in Sunday Morning service for worship, then daddy takes her back to nursery. But though she’s not old enough to know the words (18 mos), she lala’s with it and I often catch her raising her hand and on a fast song dancing. I love the innocence of children!

We used to do that at our old church. I love worshiping as a family.

Wow. What a wonderful picture of adoration. Good for you letting her participate. I’m sure anyone around was touched seeing her pure and innocent worship.

This was a great post. Isn’t it wonderful how we can learn so much from our children? My son was clapping through a song at church recently. It didn’t matter to him that no one else was clapping. He felt the Spirit move and he went with it. Love it!

Wonderful! I can’t wait until my daughter learns the words or at least tries to sing (she’s 2). We should all watch our children more and follow their innocence, instead of being embarrassed.

So true. I get so caught up in appearances and forget sometimes to just be thankful and learn from these beauties that God has given me.

Jill,
Thanks – what a great reminder. I have not attended that event. I will have to see when the next one is.

This moved me to tears, Jill!
Kids totally get it. It’s us that muck it up! What an encouragement and testimony to your parenting.
I do pray to have the heart and mind like a child and truly love like Jesus as much as I can! And, of course teach my kids the same.

Thank you so much for that beautiful spoken lesson. It’s hard as adults to lay down our inhibitions…kid are so pure!

God is awesome! It seems as though He sometimes has to use our kids to remind us to just commune with Him. I’m glad they’re innocent enough to hear Him.

I too am consumed by the fear that my kids are distracting others from their worship. Because of that I don’t worship. AT. ALL.
Time for me to let go a bit.

Beautiful! What a moving post. Thank you for sharing.
I left my former church almost two years ago and have not found another to replace it. I have been aching to get back to church. Worship was always my favorite part of the service, and I now listen to K-Love to worship in the privacy of my vehicle. Reading your post is lighting a fire in me to get back to church, because while it’s easy for me to say that I’ll get around to it, or I can maintain my relationship with God on my own, my 4 year old boy has missed out on almost two years of learning about, loving and worshiping the Lord. Shame on me.
Again, thanks for sharing. Such a beautiful story!

I am such a believer in community. Finding a church home can be so hard, but so worth it!!

Awww, that is so majorly sweet. The kids are our future and to see their love of God through their small acts of worship is amazing, awe-inspiring.
