Picaboo – Things I Love Thursday (plus a GIVEAWAY!!)

TILT I first discovered Picaboo last summer when one of the deal blogs I read (I would give credit, but I have no idea) posted a deal for a free photo book. I had some amazing pictures from our vacation that I wanted to make sure didn’t languish on my computer. You see I can’t take a picture to save my life, but Lisa joined us for an afternoon of our vacation and her pictures were ah.maz.ing. So I figured I would give this unheard of photo book company a try because free is free.

I loved the process of creating the book. It was so easy and there were so many cool ways to customize my book. I squealed when it was done and couldn’t wait to show the hubby the preview. But then I got the book. I was over the moon. I have done books through other companies before and while I have never been disappointed, I also have never been blown away. I LOVED my Picaboo book and the price was right.

For Christmas we made Picaboo books for all the grandparents with some family pictures we had taken. They were so well received and it was one of my favorite gifts to give. We keep both Picaboo books out on the coffee table and someone in our family seems to be looking at them on any given day. As someone who keeps far too many photos stuck on her hard drive, I hope to continue to make more books and stay a bit more on top of this photo thing.

imageOne of the coolest ways to share photos is creating a photo calendar. I seriously considered it for this year’s gifts, but Silas is so young his look changes practically daily. So photos from certain months last year barely look like him anymore. But it is in my future. I absolutely love the idea of gazing at our pictures every month of the year. The awesome thing about Picaboo’s Premium Calendars is that they are so customizable. Not only to do you get to pick the size and theme and layout of your calendar, but you get to personalize actual days. So mark your mom’s birthday with your favorite picture of her. Your anniversary with that amazing pic of you two on the beach. Heck, even Arbor Day with that beautiful picture of the changing leaves. Totally customizable.

How would you like a shot at making your own Picaboo calendar? I have one Premium Calendar up for grabs (a $29.99 value). You will be mailed a coupon code that will expire on 2/15/11 so I’m thinking maybe a winter birthday present? Or Valentine’s Day present for the hubby with great pictures of his kids? Leave me a comment letting me know who you would gift the calendar to and you will be entered to win.

Fine print: Winner will be responsible for shipping costs. Giveaway is limited to one person, meaning if you have already won a calendar on another site , you will be ineligible to win.

For extras entries:

Winner will be drawn at random on Wed, Jan. 12th. Best of luck!

And now, link yourself up to Things I Love Thursday. I haven’t been able to give this little carnival as much time and attention as I would like lately, but I am hoping to do a little better in 2011. I really want to try and visit more blogs and give you all some Twitter love. So hold me to it. Participating is easy. Simply write a post about something you love. Paste your URL in Mr. Linky below. Make sure to link back to this carnival. And hop around leaving some comment love to the other bloggers. Easy Peasy. But all the Things I Love Thursday guidelines can be found here.

  8. So fun! We have done the calendars (thru Snapfish) the last 3 or 4 years as grandparent gifts…the year our first was born we also did 3 5×7′s in a pretty frame we got from Hobby Lobby. Now, each year I update those pics (cheap!!) and do the calendar and we’re done! Since we’re overseas and not making money, this is a great way to still feel like we get to give something without spending a ton. :)

Thanks fore the heads-up on Picaboo, tho! Will def check out!
