My addiction to buying off deal sites has led me to stumble upon some great products. This week it led me to one of my new favorite things. Peeled Snacks.
I wish I could remember what deal site I found them on so I could link to it with an affiliate link, you could all click on it and I could in turn make money, but I can’t remember. THIS is why I am not a deal blogger.
Every day I have to pack my kids lunch as well as a snack. And when they come home from school they are usually howling for a snack as well. Since cutting out processed food a few years back, snacks are harder to find that fit our family’s way of eating. We do a lot of fruit, I make granola bars from time to time, and did I mention fruit?
One of my kid’s favorite foods is dried fruit. I gotta say I love it too, but most dried fruit you buy in the store is packed with ridiculous amounts of sugar. Which in my humble opinion, totally defeats the purpose of eating fruit. I mean would you cut and apple and before you give it to your kids dip it in sugar. (caramel maybe……)
Peeled Snacks have no added sugar. They are organic, gluten free, low calorie, little bags of deliciousness. They are a great size for a snack of a side for their lunch bag. The downside is that I can’t seem to keep them around because my family won’t stop eating them!
The other downfall is that they are a bit pricier than some dried fruit you might be used to. You can find them at Starbucks and Whole Foods, but I have found that they are often on sale on Amazon. And according to the 750 deal emails I find in my inbox every morning, they are often popping up on deal sites for about half price.
I won’t be buying these all the time, but you can bet that I will be keeping my eye out for sales and deals. Plus it is hard to put a price on hearing your kids beg for more fruit. Now if they could just find a way do this for brussel sprouts…..

My kids are weird and don’t really like dried fruit. Which is a same. Thankfully, they’ll eat fresh fruit, so I can’t complain. My current go-to quick snack is Monkey Bars. They are good for you, kid friendly granola bars. They have chocolate ones that make my kids think I’m the coolest mom ever.

Hmmm, I will have to keep an eye out for these. I’ve never heard of them before. But I am all about trying to get my kids to eat more fruit

Thanks for hosting the party. We forward to picking bunches of apples this time of year. We keep them in a cool place and they last for quite some time. They feed many fruit hungry bellies before they are gone or spoiled! Also, the memory of apple picking is a great family memory.

Dry fruit is totally addictive.
I just found your link up this morning and posted a video recipe for tomatillo sauce, a great way to enjoy your tomatillo crop.

Strange you should mention this. I just saw that peeled snacks were on special sale on Amazon and was contemplating getting them. I’m keeping them on my good snack list as well for when my twins are older

I love finding new, healthy snacks for school lunches or on the go. What a great product! We’re big fans of the freeze dried fruit at Costco, and applesauce “crushers” from Trader Joe’s. Things like that make healthy eating fun. Expensive, but fun. Thanks for sharing!
