I have said before that I am the least germaphobe mom running around the planet. I won’t go into full details about all the things I let my kids do, but let’s just say we have been known to abide firmly by the three second rule.
That being said, there is something so foul about looking down after stuffing some peaches in your shopping cart and seeing your son chewing on a shopping cart. Try as I might I can’t get him to stop. It’s like the thing is coated with chocolate.
So while I must admit I am not the type of person to run out and buy a shopping cover cart, I was willing to try it when Infantino sent me one to review as part of their blogger test drive program.
I have been trying their products for almost a year now and I am never disappointed. I had never really heard much about the company or the products before these reviews and now I find myself looking for them for gifts because they are a great combination of innovative, adorable and functional.
The Infantino Cloud Shopping Cart Cover is no different. I love that it stretches to fit the whole cart or a highchair if you are out to eat. The pattern is ridiculously cute and would be appropriate for either gender. And it is easily washable which is essential for any time you use anything with kids.
Honestly the downside is just that it is just big. I don’t think it is bigger than any other shopping cart cover, but in general they are just big which makes it a little difficult to transport to the store or restaurant. If you regularly use these types of things I would love to hear a tip about how you “cart” these around. Yeah, that was bad.
Would you like to win an Infantino Shopping Cart Cover? I have one up for grabs! To enter, simply leave a comment letting me know something you use with your kids that you can’t live without. That entry is mandatory, but if you want a few more leave a separate comment for each of the following:

Fun! I don’t have any kiddos yet, but we’re hoping to in the next 2 years or so! When I was a nanny, & was potty training my charge, I carried around those little M&M minis. I am not above bribery!
I could not live without my maya wrap and becco carrier.
I would have to say that the round links connecting toys to the stroller (etc.) have recently become indispensable.
I also think about how much warmer and cozier it must be to a baby…rather than that cold, pokey metal that inevitably freezes their backs when their shirts get got on something. I’d like a happy baby when I grocery shop– I have enough issues of my own without a wailing child to boot!
Huggies wipes. I’ve tried other brands but they just don’t make the cut. They are useful for so many things!
I so need this. Did you see that recent news cast showing all the germs found on shopping carts? I’m pretty relaxed at home, but a germ freak in public! Aside from that, I cannot live without my Over the Shoulder Baby Holder sling and my Glamour Mom Nursing tanks. The sling for obvious reasons, but my chunker is getting heavy and would love to put him in a cart. The tanks are perfect as they keep your belly covered up so you don’t freeze when feeding.

Right now, it’s Sarah’s jumperoo. She bounces happily in it in our bedroom while I fold clothes, in the kitchen while I cook and put things away, and in her room while I’m putting her things away or cleaning the bathroom. Life saver.
I also liked Infantino on Facebook. (I have their sling carrier too, which comes in handy right now at the store, but I’ve been looking at their shopping cart covers.)

I had a Buggy Bagg when mine was still in the cart. We used it until she was at least two. It had a handy pocket for wipes and some small toys. We LOVED it. I just kept it in the car and grabbed it and my wallet/coupons when I went in the store. Because I kept the wipes in the Buggy Bag, I didn’t feel a need to take in the entire diaper bag. I think I might have kept one spare diaper in there too. You know – just in case. Keep in mind, this was like 7 years ago and these things have gotten better with time.
I would love to win one to give as a baby gift.

I, too, loved my shopping cart/high chair cover! A friend had one that folded into itself to make a cute carrying bag. I was pretty jealous of that (can’t remember what brand it was!). I remembered I had a small tote bag that was pretty cute and I was able to tuck my cover into it! It still was one extra thing to carry around, but since it was confined to a bag I was able to carry it around pretty easily. Hope this helps

On the advice of a friend, I started using cuticle nippers to clip my boys’ nails. I found it far less awkward. Now they’re older, and I don’t have to use it any more, but in a few weeks we’ll have a new baby to use them on!

Flintstone vitamins. Sometimes we have a successful dinner if my son eats all the ketchup off his plate. To say he is a picky eater is a huge understatement. We can’t live without Flintston vitamins to give him the vitamins he is missing at the dinner table.

With my niece and nephew, I can’t live without hand sanitizer! They hate washing their hands, so I find it’s just so much easier to squirt some in their hands instead of the fight to find a bathroom, get them to wash, not touch anything gross on the way back…This is especially great when eating out.

I could not live without those waffle weave blankets for swaddling! Though I’m past that point now… which kind of makes me want to weep.

It may sound strange, but something we’ve done w/ both of our kids is buy a spare Blankie. You know, that one Blankie that they love, that gets slobber, drooled, chewed, dragged, dropped, and generally nasty? I bought their Blankies before they were born, and having a spare has been fantastic, especially when it needs washed – we can wash the Blankie with no drama!

I used a Floppy Seat cart cover when my kids were still riding in carts. It was the kind that folded into itself to make a little carrying case with handles. Loved it.

During the cold & flu season I must have hand sanitizer with me at all times when we’re out. 3 & 2 yr olds touch everything! And with one be a thumb sucker, I feel better if I know that little thumb is “clean” before she puts it in her mouth!
Sometimes it seems like I am the only mom at the store without a shopping cart cover…now with my third baby, it seems like a might need to get one finally as she loves to chew on everything. Yuck! I can not live without my miracle blanket though…that thing is the best and lets my babies sleep for a long, long time!
Germs…..germs and germs was all that I could see the first year. No I am kinda okay. Thanks to my husband who has taken that fonia from me!!!
