I understand exactly what you mean. My son just turned 6 this summer. Now he is the baby; I doubt there will be anymore (unless God has a surprise blessing for us) and I found it incredibly difficult to come to terms with 6. There is nothing babyish about 6 – nothing.

Happy birthday to your little girl!
I had a similar experience with my two births—the first, I had an epidural, forceps and complications afterward (spinal headache—on my back for a week!). The second I went drug free and it was so much easier (birth and recovery).

My youngest baby of three is turning 6 tomorrow, so I know how you feel. They grow up so fast, my oldest is turning 11 in November, how did THAT happen?!

I can’t even remember how I found your blog but I love it…my oldest turned 6 last April…I was in tears reading this entry as it is EXACTLY what I felt & how I feel about my little one, or not so little as the case maybe

Happy Birthday to your Lily – I’m sorry it’s a few days late! My 6-year-old will turn 7 in November – and I’m already in denial, lol.
My oldest was the most difficult birth as well – the 3 hours of pushing, ending in a forceps (vaccuum in our case) delivery sounds very familiar.
I hope the birthday girl had a wonderful day!!
