I also had LASIK, about 10 years ago, but my eyes have deteriorated and after several years in denial I finally got glasses last year. I got them at Sam’s Club and they were still $225! So when I was looking for a place to get prescription sunglasses, I remembered your post, and went on to Zenni Optical. i just ordered two pairs, one with the tint and one just as a replacement pair of glasses. I hope I like them!!! It’s always hard when you can’t try on the frames but for $32 shipped for 2 pairs of glasses I am not complaining!

Thank you for this post. I have grown children who do not have health insurance that can use this information. And even though we have excellent coverage (including our eye glasses) this is a great way to get a "spare" pair "just in case". I sent you a private email was hoping for a private response. How did you get free Lasik? Mine was free too, but that’s b/c my parents paid… I’m sure with how bad my eyes were that at least one of my kids will need glasses in the future, so I’ll keep this in mind!

Thanks for the recommendation! I continue to lobby the hubby for Lasik, but he's convinced my eyeballs will fall out. I honestly think it's the cost that's making HIS eyeballs out. Gotta find out from Annie Jones which Cadillac insurance plan she has that will pay 90% of the cost. That's awesome! In the meantime, I think I'll head over to Zenni. I bought two pairs of glasses last year from Zenni and I love them. I’m going to check in to laser surgery this year. Our insurance will pay 90% of the cost, but I’m far-sighted and may or may not be a good candidate for the surgery. If not, I’ll be getting glasses from Zenni again.
