  1. Speaking of potty training- my pediatrician told me about a mom who had 3 kids and finally trained her youngest when he was over 3 and he asked her if he could stop wearing diapers! At least she knew he was ready.

  2. I need to do this, I keep seeing the recipe on the web. With another baby on the way I need to find ways to cut back, lol!

oh man that sounds WAY more complicated than just going to the store.

when I run out of wipes I just use toilet paper. if it’s good enough for my butt, it’s good enough for his.

(though I like wipes even for grownups, myself.)

Waaay back, before I even knew you (which seems like another lifetime), I did this but I used diaper flannel fabric cut up into little wipe-sized sheets, and made the solution out of baby shampoo and tea tree oil I bought at the health food store. I soaked, then washed the wipes along with the cloth diapers.

That was when I had one kid, lots of time on my hands, and Al Gore on my speed dial. My my, how times have changed…

More and more, I am seeing people talk about making their own baby wipes. I have even done it a few times with my oldest two boys when I ran out unexpectedly at the last minute of diaper wipes. I also added baby lotion to my mixture for extra softness. I just now read another blog that said to add the liquid of three vitamin E capsules as well. This is frugalness at it’s best.

I haven’t tried this yet, but often let my wipes stash get dangerously low, so this “recipe” will come in handy:-)

I go one step further and use baby wash cloths instead of paper towels. I just throw ‘em in the diaper pail with my diapers! (I use cloth)

My youngest is 15 and I still make my own wipes. I keep them in the car. Someone is always getting something on them and the wipes come in handy.
