Frugal Friday- Even More Reasons To Vote

There are a million and one reasons why you should vote this coming Tuesday. And a million more why you should vote for who I am voting for, but I will spare you that because this isn’t a political blog (typically, but I can’t take much more so I might explode political all over the place next week). But another great reason to vote on Tuesday is that are several food establishments giving out free food with your “I Voted” sticker.

  • Ben and Jerry’s: Free scoop of ice cream. This is quite the liberal establishment so I think it is especially awesome to take advantage of the free scoop after voting Republican. Kinda like stickin’ it to the man :) This is only good from 5-8 pm.
  • Chick-Fil-A: Free chicken sandwich. Alas we do not have the great and wonderful Chick-Fil-A up her in the north, but I am still passing on the info for those of you lucky to have one. That is the kind of selfless giver I am.
  • Krispy Kreme: Free star shaped donut!!! Holla!!! Even if I was so sick of all this yucky political campaigning that I had decided to not vote (which I never would because I strongly believe in exercising your right to vote) I would completely change my mind and vote so that I could get a Krispy Kreme. You can always write in Huckabee.
  • Schuler’s Books: If you happen to live in the West Michigan area, you can head to Schulers for a free cup of coffee. Hat tip to my fabulous blogging and real life friend Big Binder for the tip.

Throw in a run to Costco with some free samples and you practically have your 3 meals for the day. Democracy never tasted so good.

Ok, now I’m sad. We don’t have any of those places here! I guess I’m not going to vote, because a girl ought to get ice cream or a donut or something if she’s going to go vote, right? Right?

It’s the little things like this that are a debby downer in this state (as next year all votes will be mailed in). Maybe they should send an “I voted” sticker with the ballot. I’d totally wear it.. :)

  11. Our county only does absentee…I wonder if I go into Krispy Kreme and demand a free “I voted” donut if they would oblige?

Hmmm…the free donut is TOTALLY worth the public embarassment!

I’m so going to use the krispy kreme thing as a bribe since I have to take two of my three with me to vote.
